You just described why those of us who buy for cash flow, and don't depend on potential future (kind of like synthetic plastic) equity build-ups as our reason for living, buy for cash flow.  

The house is synthetic stucco... which is a MAJOR negative, but it appears to be in good shape and we've had several people check it out including a home inspector and no one has found any issues....yet.  

Over time, the synthetic slate products made of different plastics and polymers will begin to fade and look less like real slate and more like real plastic.

I would go with a synthetic to lessen the maintenance over time, especially if that area gets a fair amount of direct sun.

What pissed me off is when they had their so called people deny that they were in the wrong doing give me a break :roll: They knew about those sub prime mortgages and that they were toxic but they lied to investors and told them they were ok to invest in the meantime they created the synthetic CDO to bet against them knowing full well that they would win in the end because they knew that those mortgages were going to default.They should have fell along with Lehman Brothers but instead they got a bailout paid by us the tax payers and still profited.

Obviously, in the lease it explicitly states no smoking, synthetic or otherwise in the unit.

Is it real stucco or the fake synthetic stuff.

I also went with a synthetic roofing underlayment that is supposed to be stronger than the traditional 15# felt. 

Do the homes have genuine hardwood floors, or some high quality synthetic, that looks like wood in the photos.
