Check your state laws.a $75 fridge repair is a good deal, but likely the problem with an old fridge is the compressor/condenser which isn't worth repairing over replacing the entire fridge. 

A company may make the heat exchanger but not the electronics, pumps or compressors.

Also, always change your unit's HVAC filters or you be going through heat exchangers, evaporator coils, and compressors more often.  

So far the contractor has replaced a compressor (burned out) and the condenser (with a goodman rep involved, neither of which could figure out why as they are so reliable)New line set to go in today for $500who is liable for this and who can I talk to about it? 

When it went out again, the warranty company actually put in a new compressor.  

(He had received over 10 grands commission acting the buyer’s agent though.)Though there are improvement could be done to the property (install an additional bathroom, update kitchens, add compressor for A/C), given we bought it at a retail price, probably it’s not an option to make these updates and sell it.Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

They are MUCH more efficient than a window a/c and you don't have the added cost to run ductwork.If you are unable to separate the electric and depending on the size of the units, you might be able to use 1 compressor per 2 units and just have a couple air handlers in each unit.
