The licenses are easy to attain and the cities have departments designated to STR.   

I understand that completing long distances BRRRRs is a different kind of animal, so I am hoping to glean insight from investors who have successfully gone down this path.

If you plan to live there in the winters, you might have a hard time doing long term rental outside of that and finding a new tenant every summer.
