Offers were signed via docusign, final documents at closing, I had to get a lawyer locally to go through the documents and witness my signature and in the area where the property was located (different province). 

Their government also CONTROLS their people OR ELSE as you are witnessing in ukraine which was in existence long before russia.

I have cited numerous articles so that you can see I am not just basing this on personal experiences, like you and others.But, personally, yes- I have witnessed numerous people who fled the city and were absolutely astounded on what they could rent for half of what they were paying for a 450 sq. ft. closet.

Today its bounced back.. but it can happen in America very easily. and it can happen to cash flow real estate I witnessed it first hand.. it was not the govmit taking your money it was the free market deciding what you invested in was not worth what you paid.

Lawyer up and join the witness protection program.If you have been around the block you know that RE valuations do not adjust overnight hence take the anecdotes from your brokers and realtors that its business as usual with a grain of salt.
