@Ashley Moyer First let me say that I have a VRBO on a lake in a small neighborhood in a rural area.These are almost all 2nd homes with only one full time resident.However where I live full time someone started doing an Aibnb and the neighbors went nuts and I actually am on their side.First it is against the law to have a STR in my county where I live full time but it isn't enforced until there are complaints.Several of my neighbors wrote letters to code enforcement about strangers showing up at weird hours, Bachelorette parties with people yelling in the street, Ubers dropping people off at 2am ETC.

@Blake RamseyI generally try not to tell strangers on the internet what to do with their lives.  

Assuming there's no issue with insurance, the biggest thing I would suggest is to meet the dog ahead of time, see how it reacts to strangers, look for any signs of misbehavior or aggression.

I am sure there is fear for many to talk to strangers on the phone especially when it involves trying to see if they want to sell their home. 

However, they were more than happy to accommodate this stranger every time he called for their assistance which made it obvious that I was clearly being discriminated against.

If you want to advertise to strangers you can use the new JOBS act exception, but you will then be limited to accredited investors only.

Side note, I went to Augusta in 2007 to attend the Montana Wilderness School of the Bible so I’m no stranger to that side of the world and would love to hear how families are doing out there.
