Hey Chad, Do you know much about the status of vacation rentals in the Village of Oak Creek?

As for our current house, hopefully we will rent it out to theological grad student families from the small university in our village.

Check with your city or village to see if there is a local ordinance you should be following.

One property in Queens Village is being house hacked through AirBnB making over $100 a day with 3-4 rooms (2-unit) being rented with 70% occupancy on a "now valued" million dollar home.

(as is my husband, writing it for me) :):)  It will surely be on the planning commission agenda to limit these in certain neighborhoods, possibly the law will eventually allow, or not....The hotels and motels hate them, but they are BIG business and bring in a massive amount of money that will go elsewhere if not allowed. ..it's the way many of us expect to travel today..These properties also are taxed at a non-homestead rate so for every rental, the city, village LeBarbe Blue or township will collect 40% more in tax base......so there's the good , the bad, and the ugly... 

Try American Village just west of campus for large 80's-90s era family homes and the area south of campus bordering MLK but before you get to Hope Valley for affordable 2-3 bedroom houses on big lots.  

That said, I've heard it's reasonable to expect continued revitalization in North Park, South Park, and downtown East Village.
