I grew up in Crown Heights Brooklyn where "outsiders" viewed the area as drug and crime infested with low income, Sec. 8 and welfare residents.  

We focus primarily in the Old Brooklyn, West Park & West Blvd neighborhoods of the city as well as Parma, Lakewood and Garfield Heights.

I am in the NYC area looking to focus in Brooklyn & Queens initially.  

Can anyone recommend decent neighborhoods in either Brooklyn or Queens, where I can find something near the FHA limits? 

Hello,Am a new member in Brooklyn, NY, looking for networking and advice while getting into investing in the greater NYC area.

I was raised and still live in an area of Brooklyn that was one of the worse parts of NYC.

We are torn between being a bit more aggressive investors and having to rent in manhattan/Brooklyn or owning our own townhouse with say three units and having the two extra units support our mortgage payments.At the end of the day, we are just trying to get as far ahead as possible like anyone else.
