If she had left more than a month early and only paid through Oct you could have kept the deposit for unpaid rent for the next month IF you tried to rent it out and couldn't.Now I will say again that she was an *** to file a court complaint before even asking you about it and I think your biggest crime was just probably misinterpreting when the 30 day clock started.I would highly doubt that a judge would award double damages and probably not give back the October rent (Since she was contractually obligated to pay that and did of her own free will) if you got up there said that you thought the time clock started at the end of the lease term not when she gave back the keys and you do think that you probably made a mistake about that and returned the deposit as soon as she asked for it.
