They're hard pressed to learn the gross rents are taxable in full, and, at best, mortgage interest and taxes are potentially deductible on Sch A.

If your issue is pressing then keep calling them, if not then just sit back and wait because it isn't worth the time and effort to keep trying to reach them for now. 

If your goal is to own something longer than 2-3 years, you'll be hard pressed to find a better time than the present.

I will push to absolutely not give him the 10% holdback based on some of his work being sub-par and might press for more down the line.
