And, interestingly, you now observe cross-overs between the two areas, as more and more Europeans go to and buy property in Mexico alongside the ever growing number of Americans and Canadians while more and more Americans and Canadians buy in Spain/Portugal alongside an increasing number of Northern Europeans as well.Mexico might be the best option for North Americans and Spain/Portugal for Europeans for obvious reasons but especially if there's a lifestyle component involved as well.Don't forget though that these are generalizations as there's no one size fits all so it'll depend on your goals, the location, the type of property,...Importantly, unlike in Asia, the standard property title is freehold and foreign buyers have the same rights as their local counterparts so no discrimination there.

Additionally, senior buyers will have a more difficult time making repairs (if the home needs repairs at the time of sale) AND some senor buyers are just as flaky as their 30 year old counterparts (so do not assume that seniors will always pay on time due to gov't money).

Seems Hudson is a Class A market so prices are higher for properties but since rentals are about $1,000 cheaper than NYC counterparts you will get better quality tenants and lower vacancies and appreciation.With NJ having the lowest unemployment rate in the US (so I have read at Marcus & Millichap) the Class C markets like Essex county can provide a better ROI you just need to know what parts of Essex you would feel comfortable visiting.

A lot of these homes are in great neighborhoods, in great shape, but don't appear to be selling like their lower priced counterparts.

Disputing or disagreeing with the initial terms of a sales contract to counterpart a small percentage to you (big one for the Broker and ultimately the Agent) on a RE transaction will not look good to anyone (except you, the seller).
