(4) If the roof deck is not perfect, let's say a slight depression due to imperfect framing of the roof structure, it will pond water. 

If the house is older and the floors are not very level you will want a thicker laminate to hide the imperfections as much as possible.

Take photos of every surface, inside and out, including close-ups of every defect and imperfection.

The backing on some of the click lock planks is cork which gives it the ability to hide the imperfections of the floor as well as muffle sound in the room a bit.
