Is filing an ejectment lawsuit something that can be done without a lawyer?

I'm trying to get a handle on what ejectment will and will not do for me.As I understand it, a successful ejectment simply gets me possession, at which time the short statute clock starts. 

In any case I plan to file to the court for ejection just in case she or another person trying to claim they live there later.

I need a recommendation for an attorney to start summary ejectment on my behalf in NC (I recently moved 2 states away).I would drive back and file myself (drive is only 6.5 hrs) but I don't know how soon I would need to return to take the next step in proceedings (I've never evicted a tenant before).I think it might be best if I get an attorney to work this out for me since I'm out of state...

Has anybody in Alabama performed a successful ejectment after receiving a tax deed, if so, give me more information on what took place?

Could anybody share insight if it would be foolish to try and do an ejectment on your own without a lawyer?

Has anyone filed for ejectment for possession in Alabama with a tax certificate and added a monetary claim for curing city enforced citations? 

The options are: a) wait another year and get the tax deed, then proceed with ejectment; orb) file for ejectment now and take the risk that the owner redeems before you get the tax deed (you won't get back your legal fees)I'd like to know what other investors/experts think about this situation.

In theory, an ejectment would prove that the property was abandoned.
