If you can, self manage, otherwise there goes the benefit of STRs....I stayed in a neat STR in Scottsdale a while back and the owners were in Quebec, we had some nice chats about the area over the phone....didn't matter that they weren't local.

Hello, I only have multi-family in Quebec but I can't seem to find any attractive MF deals lately.

it's too bad Quebec doesn't accept more immigrants, we actually accept less than BC and Alberta even though we have almost 2x their population. 

I haven't been lucky in Quebec recently with finding good deals.
