I fell in love with the scenic beauty, quietness, island feels, beautiful shopping centers, nature/wildlife, etc.

Outside of inflation & rates, of the things that could still "harm" you, you have: Taxes, insurance, political climate, maturing debt, asset class diversification, geographical diversification.

=========If they are seeing these guys (pic below), they are not rats, they are possums.They sleep in the trees and will go under houses to eat their favorite food--cockroaches (or cat food if they can find it).They roll up in a ball and play dead sometimes...but have sharp teeth, and are not a pet--just a part of San Antonio wildlife like a squirrel or the birds.The cats leave them alone and will share food with them.I've not known of any who burrowed into a house like a rat to get food--they eat bugs..Good Luck!

Defamation is an area of law that provides a civil remedy when someone's words end up causing harm to your reputation or your livelihood.

No harm in posting company name for others to avoid similar situation and/or maybe someone travels in similar circles and could possible assist.  

If there is a decent risk that I could cause significantly harm than good I just hire it out.
