The leak damaged the carpet, wood flooring in Kitchen and breakfastareas as well as much drywall. a few days after this, a restoration company came to cut out significant drywall, remove living room carpet and wood flooring, the did put plastic up to close off the areas until they came back to repair everything. 5  days after that a plumber came to repipe the leak.   3 days later, the restoration co. came to place 2 large dehumidifiers and to blowers to run 24 hrs per day for 3 days.  

Need to restore this for my husband.

I'd like the opportunity to finish the process I'd already started, to acquire the property as an investment asset, and restore it as I'd intended.

Perhaps, more than anything, I'm looking for books and resources chronicling the history of Craftsman homes or showcasing modern restorations.

Eg you paint instead of hiring a professional, spend a bit of time and look for tiles at places like Habitat Re-store instead of a tile store.

Tell a seller you'll help restore their credit after you've acquired the property and that could be the deciding factor as to who gets the deal, you or your competitor.On the buy side, you'll have a larger pool of qualified borrowers.

Does the house have any other vintage elements you can keep/restore to hang with the bath?
