When dealing with invoices, I always end up with atleast 2 documents, the first is the original invoice with the date and amount owed, the second is a receipt showing the invoice paid and the date it was paid on.

You should be getting invoices for each repair and can call the vendor to make sure they're legitimate.

So in answer to your Q, yes ... it normally will show up, in your current and future ins co's reports, still as an open claim, until you get the work done and submit Invoice(s) showing so.When a big claim, like replacing the roof or foundation damage happens, so much of how much you get from the ins co depends on how you have the policy structured!
