@Joe Prillaman As a newbie to the real estate investing scene, seeing someone with such growth over such a short period of time is really motivating and eye opening!

Also, the real estate job scene is completely different from the investment side.

But the high crime, police corruption and overall lack or resources to solve crimes is something to consider for anyone looking to invest or live there as an expat, without a doubt.For the most part the people are very friendly, peaceful and welcoming, but after spending some time there you start to hear about some awful things that happen behind the scenes that tourists are unaware of and which go completely unpunished, which wouldn't happen in a developed country and might be startling for someone used to having more consistent law enforcement. 

I'm a bit partial to the buy and hold scene since we are experiencing such sharp appreciation at the moment, but there are opportunities for most strategies regardless.

It first came on to the scene back in 2014 but it’s popularity really started to pick up in May of 2018 once it released its mobile app.

If you show an apartment to a bunch of people, several of them will swear up and down that it's the nicest place they have ever scene and they can't wait to move in and they are totally serious but then it will often turn out that either they can't come up with the deposit and 1st month's rent, or they will just flake out and change their mind or say they found a better place.
