@Bruce Woodruff it's not just you at least what I see in east valley I look at house prices around us and they are much higher than when we bought in 2016.   

I'm a resident of the lower Hudson Valley and have not had the chance to explore that area up there but it seems like its close to a number of nice towns like Chatham, NY and the Berkshires within 15 min, outdoor activities also abound in all seasons.

Prescott Valley (aka: PV) was smaller, but has outgrown Prescott, is more family friendly, but still hefty on retirees. 

We have all seen times when the SFR market in high demand major metro areas like say SF and Silicon Valley where multiple offers are generally the rule not the exception.
