But overall your story fuels me to really get cranking on finding off market deals.... harder and more relentless than ever!!!! 

That has been strong for the last decade and every indication is that it will continue for a very long time.Some people are very effective at self managing their buy and holds, but even the best eventually seem to either hit a wall in terms of the number of properties they can handle or the renters just eventually wear them down with relentless silly things renters do.

In the suburban/rural upstate New York community I largely grew up in, I was bullied relentlessly in elementary, middle, and high school.

That spirit or whatever you want to call it, is relentless in ruining lives and has created an untold amount of misery.
