I'm on the Big Island, raised on Maui and I'm a newbie investor but planning on making it a full-time career.

Listen to the Bigger Pockets Real Estate rookie podcast... you wont understand everything at first, but soon it becomes like your own language.Meet people in your area... network.. tell them what you are interested in, you will be so surprised that people will show up to help you.Avoid the gurus who ask for money, PRO membership here gives you access to the webinars and calculators you need to make it make sense for a newbie. 

Newbie investor here, apologize in advance for the long post.I have a house rented for $2k/month for 3 years.

I know STR is possible remotely, but as a newbie, it intimidates me.

So may newbies come in with their spreadsheets, calculations and declarations about firing their boss in 3 years.

We're based in Frisco, TX and would love to make connections with other newbies, seasoned investors, agents and lenders in the area.  

As a new investor (newbie), I was thinking this would be a great place to start based on my expectation of low start-up costs, and by personal experience, I also understand the value of the section 8 program.
