I don't want to start with a bad deal though and maybe the market is just too hot.Ideally I'd find a fixer upper and spend a couple of months working on it post layoff, but those deals seem to be few and far between.

None of this; no raises this year because the economy is bad, worrying about a possible layoff, who's butt to kiss to make a sale or get a promotion.

God intervened on my behalf and the company I was working for at the time had a mass layoff.

Defense contractors layoff, more late rents and perhaps foreclosures.You could touch on the over 700,000 jobs being cut, how those concentrations may play in a community will depend on how diversified that community is.

Intel just announced 12k global layoffs, but other companies are "quietly" doing as large or larger layoffs. 

We are both employed in the construction industry and dealing with layoffs and intermittent work, concerned about what winter will bring.

I think that in this economy with things like this going on, we're going to see another round of layoffs.....in Congress.

(Have to admit that takes balls...) there is so much to love about doing business in Texas....and yet there is such beauty and history living in CT.....But that is why I do believe I will do more investment biz in TX than in CT, however...I do know quite a few folks who have done well in CT..both residential and commercial....lots to think about..and relearn...the land Foxwoods sits on...was my playground as a kid...growing up on the farm that once sat there....things have changed...sorry to hear layoffs are part of that life!
