Hi,we have plan to buy a property in the Windsor, and curious to know that whether is it good idea to buy a property near boarded up houses like Indian Road, Mill Street, Rosedale Avenue, Felix Avenue , Edison Street or Bloomfield Road.Once it is cleared that who wins in the end, City or Ambassador Bridge , will the price go UP on the houses in the neighborhood , or it will be mare headache for the neighborhood  and what is the fate of neighborhood in either cases....we have already put offers on property on Edison Street and Rosedale Ave.

Check out city-data for demographics.For Syracuse it says:White alone 46.9%Black alone 29.7%Hispanic  10.0%Asian alone 8.7%Two or more races 3.7%American Indian alone 0.8%Read more: http://www.city-data.com/city/Syracuse-New-York.htmlI would guess this is similar to Rochester and Buffalo and Albany.I lived in Ithaca for a while, but don't really pay attention to colors....I would guess it is pretty diverse too, but prices seemed a little higher to me in that area.

Mattress stores, vape shops, Indian restaurants (strong smells can linger over into other tenants units because of the strong spices) unless special filtration exhaust equipment, churches ( lenders do not like giving loans as the tenants can be problematic), some gyms unless operator has very high net worth with personal guarantee.If the space has been very hard to backfill with lots of possible tenants passing then may be worth a look.
