Doubtful that there would be any Federal agents rooting around in your attic, but if somehow your tenant's or a neighbor's pet (or child) were to ingest some and die, you could be in trouble were they to trace it back to you.If some neighbors pet , or child is climbing up a tree and going in the attic to eat the mothballs , is about as likely as me hitting the powerball 2 weeks in a row .

excellent idea.another idea is get some cheap labor , cheap laminate flooring, and some elbow greece to just replace the rental flooring from carpet to hardwood for the absentee landlord for a grand or two and call it day.
