@Jd Martin  I sometimes get a serious case of shinny object syndrome.. but in real estate that can be good thing.. find a market before someone else and exploit it on the run up... there is so much more to real estate than simply buying and renting a SFR or small multi..there is a big wide world out there of opportunites..

Ignore the shiny ball syndrome and just get out there and do it.

Will I be chased off or looked at like the 90% of "shiny-object" syndrome newbies that talk a lot but don't do anything?

After listening to the podcasts I've learned that being consistent and sticking to a game plan and not getting the "shiny object syndrome" will help me remain on the right path.

Conversely, I have to constantly be cautious of the shiny object syndrome. 

Finally it appears that you have fallen victim of the "I want to be your friend" syndrome with your tenant.  

I do have shiny object syndrome at times and always need to remind myself to focus on my One Thing at any given moment and not let the peripherals or future stuff distract me from whats important now. 

Avoid the "shiny object syndrome" by narrowing down your niche as soon as possible.
