Yes you will save some money by self managing but more important you will learn what it takes to manage a property. 

Look at all the population growth, job growth, and companies moving/developing here - it's absolutely blowing up and Columbus is one of the hottest markets in the entire US. 

This self-reinforcing cycle of decline has proven nearly impossible for most cities to reverse.Minimize capital required to purchase multiple properties.

If you are self-employed and do not report much income, you may also want to look at other NOnQM programs such as a Bank Statement Loan or P&L Only Loan.
