Whenever a tenant asks if he/she can install a camera (whether a Ring or a complete surveillance system - which one of my SF renters asked to do) I gladly allow it as long as the install is done correctly.

That's one of my concerns but some Airbnb hosts are taking the initiative and rehabbing houses, putting security cameras, etc, etc, basically improving the street, they're definitely helping Detroit be a safer area, less blight.
