A lot more cheaper than mailing, but still you are directly dealing with strangers, either by the virtue of them calling you or you calling them. 

They offered to absorb the added cost rather than have a stranger placed there.

So my question is - do people just expect that I'll put my assets on the line just to make some stranger happy and bypass all the questioning and background/credit checks?  

Nothing looks stranger to me than the top of a window not lining up with the top of doors and hall openings, at least on 8' ceilings, now vaulted ceilings may be an exception for taller windows. 

The neighbors are likely not wanting additional vehicles and kind of strangers.

If this is how you talk to someone as an internet stranger I'd prefer and I'm asking you not to reply further on this or other posts I make.

I've brought up the idea of her just renting out the 2 other rooms and still living there, but she rejected that and I understand because she is older and lives by herself and does not feel comfortable having strangers live in her home with her. 

I would be hesitant to show an uninvolved 3rd party bank statements from a stranger.

I woulf go buy no trespass signs and change locks right now but everyone with true legal  real estate experience and  the state of Illinois website says its illegal for me to do that even if they were strangers.
