Army Signal Corps officer (CIO-equivalent). 

Hello all,As stated in my title, I'm recently retired from the US Army and looking to start a new career as a real estate investor.

The Army made me do it! 

The man was acting a little edgy and kept telling me "I was a soldier in the US Army" (currently he was on disability).

I really do not expect the properties to appreciate a lot in my lifetime because they are near a salvation army and manna house.

I am active duty Army, with plans to stay until retirement, however my plans may be able to give you some ideas.

I'm new to the site and very interested in real estate investing.I do not have any experience in REI but researching the different aspects and niches.A little about me:  Spent 8 years in the Army and have been out for almost 7 years now.I am looking for a challenge and adventure outside of corporate America.I am willing to listen and to learn all I can about REI and get started on a new adventure and challenge.I currently reside in Clover, SC which is just south of Charlotte, NC.

Army guys are getting BAH and it allows them to rent much more house than what small multis can offer or compete with.This is not to say that multis aren't around, because there are some, but they just aren't as popular around here is all.

I am currently active duty in the Army and have been considering getting into real estate for the last 6 years, but have focused mainly on my military career and never got to investing.

After saying I would never ever get married again,  I married a much younger beautiful woman who never wanted kids(I have a grown child), loves fitness, cherishes me and is a nurse to take care of me in my old ageReal Estate has been my only job other than the US Army.
