if you are driving to one of your properties and get into an accident, and you ( the master co.) gets sued, each Series LLC can then be touched. if you keep each property separate, you do not have that risk, at worst they sue one of the llc's.

So even if you pick a state with stronger protections like WY or NV, the cause of action arose in the state where the tenant fell, so likely that the court where the accident happened would have jurisdiction.
