Oh well, time to go to dinner here in CANCUN.

Some would be transparent as the kids slid through the common areas and moms could hold up signs saying "time for dinner".

Every time I return to Colombia I take said family member out to a nice dinner as a gesture of appreciation.From my experience Colombia does not have anything close to an MLS.

I will also plan to hold it at a casual restaurant of some sort so we are flexible for food, if anyone wants drinks, dinner after, whatever.

But for actually making the connections, I think public speaking (first at local REIA type groups, or eventually trade groups that are specific to your niche like IMN conferences or even BPCon) and guesting on podcasts are a great way to get the word out about you/your company, and then inviting others to reach out to you.That and starting your own networking group is a good way to expand your network - which can be as small as hosting a regularly scheduled dinner all the way up to a hosting a regional conference (the SF Bay Summit and Midwest Real Estate Networking Summit are two examples that started here on BP and grew into much bigger events).

It brings back so many painful memories of uncomfortable conversations at the dinner table, "why are we putting all of our money into these loser deals?" 

We get invited to dinners after we walk their house.

We have members that have been there more like 25 or 30 years; since the very beginning when there were only 5 or 6 people meeting at a restaurant.We have hundreds of investors at all levels at our monthly dinner meetings.

You can most likely just write up a fair distribution and slide it over to her to sign at dinner tonight!
