It's making my life REALLY easy.While the Pro versions under the Chief Architect brand are somewhat pricy, the "consumer" versions under the "Home Designer" brand preserve a great deal of the functionality, with a much more modest price point.  

Turns out the deal from CA may be a little thin - exploring other options like a sub2 or a master lease agreement - this guy is only concerned with preserving his credit and making mortgage payments.

If you were looking for principal preservation, its a good bet.

Better to bleed slowly and preserve your options than to throw in the towel and open up a vein and bleed out all at once.

And you get the property tax credit in the purchase closing that helps offset some of that.Essentially, you can take down a house for 5 or 6k to help preserve your capital.
