I always avoid protection plans and warranties.

We have several who have called us and usually are glad to help (avoid meal times and be aware of their timezones).

A good CPA will provide greater value in advisory and tax savings through proactive tax planning than the fees they charge.

If you are honest with yourself and don't want to be active, then perhaps you look to partnerships or syndications to invest in passively but to me the key is knowing yourself first because if your plan doesn't work for you specifically it doesn't work. 

That's because having a license was an idea, not a plan.
