I also happen to have studied a bit about stocks, and I can tell you that the number of people who have figured out the stock market and have demonstrated that they can consistently beat the market over a period of decades is "VANISHINGLY SMALL," to use author JL Collins's term for it.

Neal Collins is our coach and co-founder of Latitude and he has tried something like this.

You'll get it if your curious and good at what you do.I have never worked in aerospace/defense (avoided them out of undergrad) but my outside impression is that there are appropriate layers of bureaucracy at places like Rockwell Collins, Lockhead Martin, etc.
