I would repaint the dark rooms a light color like in the other rooms with the lighter, neutral colors.It's a really nice place. 

Hey all,I know the countertops question has been asked quite a bit, but wanted to get some answers from people who have installed butcher block (Ikea specifically) in their rentals and how they have held up.My kitchen will have terracotta tiles, so I'm thinking white cabinets with a light, neutral colour for the walls.

Further clarification - when we were renting the unit to them, they had asked if we can change the carpet as they didn't like the color (the bedrooms have non neutral color carpets).

With a quality primer, you will go back to a neutral color when the tenant vacates.  

If you do have to go back to the buyer and ask for anything it’s easier if a “neutral” appraiser found A, B, and C.

Whatever you do triple check there is not a "loose neutral" condition.

But to be fair, people on BP are the smart savvy investors, so for most the cost issue has probably been neutralized or even flipped on its head buy them owning property in the state and also investing in state or out.
