When I left, apart from the normal political shenanigans, it was very well run with a strong government presence, military renters, and organic business growth that wasn't dependent on tech cycles, credit crunches, etc.

If so, you are in very dangerous territory and should definitely STOP all your dealings with this transaction until you consult an attorney and the CA foreclosure consultant laws which specifically prohibits taking advantage of homeowners in foreclosure (in default) against predatory investors. 

We are spreading the net wide, as well as going deep into the markets that we have presence. 

Let us not forget, that the 15 lawsuits I highlighted in my previous post represent ONLY those people who had the resources, and presence of mind (and in some cases, the courage) to file a lawsuit against him.
