In addition to spending tourist dollars, I pay folks to mow lawns, clean yards, clean up the houses on turnover, shovel snow off sidewalks, paint, replace flooring, etc.

You don't need those done in the winter and this way they get paid if they do it and if they don't then you can get it done.Yes, but depending on where you are in the country, you do need the leaves raked in the autumn, and the steps and walks shoveled, salt to be spread in the winter.

The more units under one roof, the more efficient the cost of salting is, as you will pay the same cost for the sidewalks whether 3 people walk on it or 30 people.I am not debating whether or not to plow or shovel the snow, only the salting component.
