With the increase in extreme weather and that continuing to become more frequent and severe, is Florida still worth investing in? Market is red hot

In my opinion Florida is 100% still with it. You have people moving here from New York, Boston, California, and other tech states driving up the rental market. If you compare our rent to California, it’s basically the same, but our house prices are half there prices. I see it as an advantage since I live and invest in this state.

Don't buy into the climate BS....it gets hotter, it gets colder. Always has, always will. Heck yes, buy in Florida, it is going to be the next big state that everyone wants to move to....there and Texas.

Quit watching the news.  Florida certainly cant get singled out for increased bad weather.  Out west is constantly burning along with droughts, mudslides, you name it.  East coast had NYC NJ take on a hurricane.  Weather is what it is and definitely not something I would be hiding from for my investments.

As far as taxes, coming from NYS, mine here in FL are a bargain.

Demand is not going away anytime soon. In St Pete Florida we are seeing people showing up to tour apartments in Uhauls and ready to sign leases that day. Not only do we have normal migration from retirees but now we have jobs moving here as well. If this new tax bill gets passed then it will compress this market even more due to migration.

Don't believe the hype. Contrary to the national media Florida doesn't blow away every hurricane season. Where can you invest that doesn't have blizzards, floods, tornadoes, drought, earthquakes, etc. All natural disasters are a bummer, but if you're not right on the coast and have good insurance you'll do just fine.

The space coast / Brevard County has had a crazy explosion in the Aerospace / Defense / Technology areas and that is even further fueling the desires of the area along with beaches, and great values on housing!
