I thought I would reach out because am actively looking to set up an STR on the Nevada side.My family and I plan to purchase a luxury home and STR it until the mortgage is paid off and we are able to retire there.

I'm actually shopping for an STR on the Chesapeake right now, but have had difficulty making any of the properties pencil out from Annapolis. 

Getting our STR on the market and I was thinking about ways I could automate the thermostat to turn on 1 hour before check-in and right after check-out.

Ours are VERY against us having an STR on the street, even though they all live at least 1000 ft away.

It helped to learn the skills I needed to then apply those skills/experiences to do STR in my properties I own thousands of miles away.So I have 3 rental arbitrages and 3 owned homes.If I had a choice, I would ONLY do STR on homes I own.
