So given that, it would be very difficult to find a lender who will loan you the money.Personally I lived in Australia for 10 years but I'm lucky enough to have dual citizenship so I can go back and forth with no problem.

Dude if you were born in this country and or have gained legal citizenship, you have every right to put a purchase contract on anything your heart desires and turn around and sell that contract to anyone your heart desires.

Unless the OP is a kiwi, Australian, or Singaporean or knows of some slick loophole, he wouldn’t be able to buy property there anyway (without first being granted citizenship).
