All of this was not spelled out for me. 

Its all spelled out in the lease agreement.

Just make sure you spell out your plan in details for your presentation.

I know how to spell, I promise.

Each lien has a unique set of rights that are spelled out in the your state's statutes.

As someone else mentioned you might want to get the option to buy in your lease that will at least clearly spell out your interest.
