Probably similar to the scam when I was selling my dad’s truck for him on Craigslist....they want to send a full price cashier’s check, have their “transport guy” pick up the vehicle, and title.....when the cashiers check turns out be fake, they already have the truck and title.If you sign a rental agreement for 2-3 months, they now have a tenant relationship, and you’d have to go through the eviction process, even though their cashier check was fake....they’d just ate your unit for themselves while you went through the process.

But, we're probably still 6-12 months away from having our ducks in a row in terms of general RE knowledge, being pre-approved, and potentially having to rethink our transportation strategy (right now we're car-less and rely on transit, bikes, walking, and the occasional car-share). 

It's a trendy area with great public transportation to downtown via the third line train.

In terms of transporting a home, is there any specifics we need to know?

With the transportation grant from the Feds, the new ENORMOUS metro park development on the West side, and downtown sprawling out further and further, it seems as if we are heading toward continue prosperity in real estate prices for some time to come. 

In theory this sounds like  this deal could be done just as easy at a trailer park that allows renters and do away with transportation cost.  

I prefer relatively safe, urban neighborhoods with a high walkability quotient afforded by a commercial avenue or two and access to public transport. 

What if I told you it would be a good idea if you worked at a full time job, and then started to work on a side job...paying your employer, and this was fine with you because your first job gave you more money than you knew what to do with, and you "hoped" that the side job would give you a promotion (apartment conversion), transfer you to a closer location saving transportation costs (tax savings) and give you a raise (rent increase) but you didn't know when/if yet?
