Some things to keep in mind that apply more broadly are that property taxes can be very high and subject to drastic increases in places like Ohio and Texas and insurance can be super risky in areas like FL where 40% annual increases are not uncommon and carriers are leaving the state in droves.

I'd be curious to hear about your experience.This appears to be one of the only options I have for insuring my STR in a wildfire area, but I've read some concerning things here in the past about NREIG and the carriers they use.The only other option I've found is with Berkshire Hathaway, and that policy has a $15K / yr price tag, about double the price of the NREIG policy.
