What is the architectural style and approximate age of the house?

Bright, airy floor plan w/ architectural details throughout.

I also agree about the single color building re-paint, but would also suggest the addition of exterior faux window casings to add additional architectural interest.  

Either get a cheap designer like an architecture student or just copy comps in your area.

We are builders, and our son does architectural renderings for us (he's not an architect) We just sold a new home off his renderings, before we even closed escrow on the land!

My humble opinion.Not sure if you like the brick look or not or what the architectural style of your house is, but a lot of folks around here are facing their fireplaces (esp new construction -- have seen some re-modelers that know what they are doing do this as well) with a faux stone look.Something like this You could probably face the whole wall if you wanted including around the windows, or simply just face the brick portion.  

A few years ago I started working on a degree called a 'Masters of Real Estate Development for Architects' (MRED) at Woodbury University in San Diego after getting jaded in a traditional Masters of Architecture program and applying to the MRED program on a whim.

The house looks plain on the outside, and I don't get the sense of modernity in any of the design or the exterior architecture of the building.

Try visiting your local college's school of design and posting some info about your job opportunity in the architecture department.

It can be done with architectural shingles made just for that type of roof.
