It is about 65 miles southwest of Raleigh, the state capital, and is also close to the border with South Carolina.Fayetteville has a humid subtropical climate, with hot summers and mild winters.

Port Richmond is great but there are some pretty hard borders (Aramingo and Allegheny, I'm looking at you).

But, again, due to the peculiarities of the area, you can still find plenty of good deals (by my definition) here.Again, this is an up-and-coming area with a long history, much of it ugly, just outside the formal borders of a Rust Belt city.

I was born and raised in Mexico in a border town but have been living and working in the states since 2001.I currently work full time as QA/QC Director for an Industrial construction company, I have been here since 2002. 

I'm amazed that so many people believe this.To set the record straight, it is true that, if you want to buy property in the so-called "forbidden zone (within 100 kms from an international border or 50 kms from a coastline), you have to own it through a fideicomiso (bank trust) or a Mexican corporation (a corporation is better if you own more than two properties).

Something like the Zillow map with property borders but only has my marks would be ideal.

Just keep in mind it's non-binding and a "roof certificate" borders on useless in real life practical terms.  

As a rule though, the 4th Ward (North of Broadway to River St) and the north side (north of the Passaic River to the Prospect Park/Haledon/Hawthorne border) are the highest crime areas. 

Then a bit of political stuff happened and the border got shifted to where it is today.

I only live 15 miles and a ferry ride from the border.
