I have a friend who moved into a high end apartment complex- she had a no-damage sticky hook on the wall (3M) , however when removed it did stick, and pulled both she paint and some of the drywall paper.

These can be sticky transactions and the LAST thing you want is to take on ANY liability for what might or might not be in the dirt or ground water.Im also fairly certain that you can not put any food uses (or residential uses) on contaminated sites but that might be incorrect.

Vacation rental will get you much closer though but there it gets sticky with local regulations/neighborhood covenants, changing regulations and tying your priorities for a personal residence together with properties that are good performing vacation rentals.

Mortgage lending has errored more liberal of late, in response to significantly reduced refinance demand (one way to make up for a loss of business in Category A is to loosen guidelines in Category B -- if less people want to buy rice, then increase your pasta offerings in your grocery store, to grow your pasta business, to make up for the decline of rice sales).
