The only blessing is that Michigan has schools of choice to help kids that stuck here and they can use vouchers in Michigan to goto charter schools.

Assume that each home is in decent shape, competitively priced (at or slightly above voucher worth) passed the Section 8 inspection, and has plenty of pictures when advertised on gosection8.com.

Those tenants pay their share of the rent, because if they don't, they lose the voucher...no one willingly gives up $1000 or more tax free every month.

I have heard the horror stories about Section 8 tenants destroying property, and the flipside that the vouchers are difficult to get and a recipient would lose their voucher for an eviction, so they take care of the house.
