Im more a hands on learning definitely and as far as living in a unit i couldn't yet because its out of the kids school district  plus the limited space. but thats the goal, to buy a small air or inn to manage and run for work while still renting in our district and then looking to buy since we're renters again!

I'm absolutely not interested in leasing fast at all and I'm extremely picky about tenants and I do things like require a large security deposit (even for section 8 renters, I have three of them and love them), don't supply appliances, take my time doing background checks and arranging multiple calls/meetings with potential tenants.

And btw to the other guy who said they shouldn't have voted for it, if they hate the smell and are complaining about it, they probably didn't vote for it in the first place.I personally don't care what people do in their own homes, but they are renters and it is in their lease agreement.

Its just kind of the nature of the beast and investing were over 50% of all homes are rentals its a different lifestyle than what we are used to at least on the west coast were maybe 10% of SFR's are rentals  renters rent apartments.
