.- I agree with @Max Guerrero consider some stand out pieces and spend a bit more if possible; larger art work that is modern and sticks out, unique looking standing lamps, etc.- Guest Experience: The last thing is really going to be the guest experience; ensure you are doing a thorough job around screening, references, background checks, etc.

Some people like the knotty pine look for a cabin.Rugs and artwork would tame some of this.

Mental health records/journals, some nice artwork from the '50s, antique sewing machine and my favorite... a box of puppies.

On the label use a seasonal or generic art work followed by your first name and return address.

We use different art work for different seasons..

You could place something decorative there (glass, an adhesive, artwork) to give the viewer a sense that they are looking at or out a window.
