When I first started I bought properties in New Britain and Waterbury because they were cheap.

For CT I would consider: Hartford, Bristol, New Britain, Manchester, Meriden, Middletown. 

I'm from the NYC area and currently invest in Bristol, Waterbury, New Britain.
