@Jackie Lange Ohhh I see, I would like to invest besides United States (Puerto Rico, Florida, Texas & California) in Dominican Republic, Australia, Singapore, & Colombia.

Current thoughts are to set up a Family Trust in Australia which then manages a Holding Company LLC in the US.

Australia and China will own half of the city within the next ten years.

I've been having a look around, but as there is such a huge wealth of knowledge here, it takes a long time to sift through the relevant content.I'm not so much looking for advice on how to buy from Australia (already have been researching this extensively, BiggerPockets was actually a resource recommended to me through that process), I'm looking for advice on whether the basic strategy I've outlined is a sound one, as well as potential risk factors or tips of things to keep in mind.Many thanks in advance!

Hi David I have lived in Auckland New Zealand, and Sydney and Melbourne Australia,deals I've done there really cost me some money re :  were solicitors (lawyers) I must've spent 10 grand in one year on solicitors taking my US contracts and making them Aussie and Kiwi kosherLove the Gold Coast mate!

As additional background, I plan on relocating from Sydney, Australia in July of 2015.....but am considering buying another place and continuing to rent the townhouse....yet would like to have the flexibility to decide in May15 while still having a more formal commitment from the tenants.
